Invisible, inaudible PC platform for Digital Signage and digital media displays

A ‘hidden’ PC solution that attaches to the VESA mounting at the rear of a display has been introduced by Trident, to eliminate clutter from digital signage and media player installations in retail outlets, airports, and hospitality environments.

The ultra thin, fanless VESA PC available exclusively from Trident offers a discreet, inaudible computing platform that neatly transforms any VESA compliant display into a media rich thin client or Digital Signage platform. Attaching the PC to the mount resolves the issue of where to place a local PC to drive a multimedia display.

The case is 1” thick, and incorporates industry standard VESA mounting holes, allowing it to be fitted to the back of any VESA compliant display. The PC is equally suitable for use with a compliant wall mount, rail mount or post mount.

Trident can offer the PC as a solid state thin client supplied with a flash drive, or with a 2.5” hard disk drive. It is a fully featured unit, with hardware MPEG2/4 and WMV9 acceleration, and all the communications, video and other features that are found in a standard desktop or laptop. These include a Gigabit Ethernet port, optional WLAN support, DVI-D, VGA and S-Video inputs and outputs, 4 USB ports, and 6-channel audio. VESA PC is offered with a choice of processors: a 1GHZ VIA C7 or a 1.5GHz VIA ULV EDEN device. The unit runs from a 12V power supply. The overall size of the PC is 180mm x 298mm x 25.4mm deep, and it weighs just 2kg. An IR remote control is available.
